VISION COMPLEX STORY.

Bunda is one of the development towns in Tanzania a long Serengeti National park, there is presence of children in and at our surroundings who experiencing the harsh environments of ignorance and loss of parents due to epidemics, endemic, emerging and re-emerging diseases and pandemics such us Cholera, TB, Sickle cell Anaemia and HIV/AIDS this calls for more interventions in their education/promotion and advocacy, Hence, Vision Complex orphanage was started to cover up the gap by taking care of the kids and educate them for free by then later on was expanded to be both Orphanage and school where all children would be given their rights to education while some children with their normal parents would pay for the services rendered to their kids at Vision Complex while the disabled and orphans got the services for free.

Vision Complex orphanage was started in 2nd June 2014 it was started in Bunda Town in Mara Region with a capicity of 40 children. 

The education services are provided at Vision complex for 1 Orphans, 2 children with disabilities and 3 Normal children with their parents, the orphanage was started by one Person - Simon Walia John who is still the owner upto date. Simon was /is a small businessman and a small farmer who just keeps chicken and growing Rice in a small scale and these having been helping the VISION COMPLEX to grow since then though at a low pace due to the less amount Simon collects from his businessness . 

Vision Complex was started in a four roomed a bandoned house where  Simon could sleep in on room and the other remaining rooms were used for classes for learning.

Due to the demand of education in the Village the children kept on increasing and I was to look for another big house for rent which could sustain the activities by then ,and that second house we shifted to had 6 rooms with one big sitting room of which we stayed their for couples of years before we could buy enough pieces of land for building a full Orphanage and school.

This was the second house with 6 rooms and one big sitting room whereby we shifted after the first house of which became small by then due to the increase of the children. This house was under rental of which we really struggled to pay its rent.

These are the current buildings we are using.

Vision Complex school has made considerable efforts to minimise gender imbalances andn inequalities that would prevent the society from realizing it's full social development. 

Significant efforts have been made to promote women's participation in teaching and core membership in the board. The proportion of women in leadership representative position has reached 54 percent in Vision Complex orphanage/school.

The challenges we have currently

1 Lack of enough classrooms

2 Lack of School Van 

3 Lack of office supplies 

4 Lack of Accessible and permanent water source.

5 Lack of Electricity .

6 Lack of systems Electrical computers etc

In View of above situation, the Vision complex top currently priority is to buy a good school Van that will make the school access its own safe Transport, at this time the school still hire A tricycle which the children use to come to school which is not safe and too expensive to handle. If the school would gets a working used van the improvement in terms of Transport at Vision Complex would be made and this  would hence the development of Vision Complex

Bunda is a farming community, our students represent many tribes,and a range of religious  backgrounds including Christians, Muslims and Pagans. Like so much of Africa , Many of our students are orphans, and provide us with us with special challenges. 

We teach in English as is customary in Tanzania.

Our school faces challenges that go beyond education, medical , food and water,  needs  must be met to allow the children to learn. The following are chronic and widespread problems.

Malaria - our kids in school suffer mostly from Malaria due to a lack of mosquito nets and simple devices that keep kids from being bitten by mosquitoes carrying Malaria. Once the disease is contracted it is far more expensive to treat.

TYPHOID- this debilitation disease is also widespread and too expensive to treat but can be easily prevented by simply providing the people with clean water.

FUNGUS - This disease affects mostly children and is spread from one to another.

Drugs are available to treat it but are prohibitively expensive.

Disease outbreaks require immediate action in school to overcome the situation. 

We have a full time nurse on staff, but medication is too expensive and many times the parents can't afford to provide treatment for their children. The needs are great and our budget are limited.

We also provide three meals in a day in school, this alone makes a huge difference in the children ability to learn support in financial needed to maintain or increase the food provision in school.

 PHASE 1 Construction of the school structures ( Classrooms, Offices , Toilets , Electric installation, Permanent water sources, Fitting Classroom furniture).

-Add Dormitories for the orphans.

PHASE 3 Introduce enterprises for long term sustainable revenue.

-Provide employment for the graduating students, we have well qualified teachers , hungry students, and now all we need is your help with some strategic funding. Where is Bunda in the Mara Region of Tanzania: Found between Lake Victoria and the Serengeti National park, Primarily agricultural community, only 48% of its residents have clean drinking water and 60% are literate.

Meanwhile, we are still in Phase 1 whereby we haven't covered a half of what are supposed to be built. We have collected some materials to resume building four Classrooms of which their foundation has been put in place. What we need is some strategic funds from you . Building these four Classrooms needs $40,000 .  Each classroom  will contain 30 students .Feel free to donate to help eradicate the rate of illiteracy surrounding the Manyamanyama village where Vision Complex is located and to ensure the children of Vision Complex get the best education. 

Why do we need these four classrooms? Well, these classrooms will promote good space in the classrooms for the students to learn and will attract many students whose their parents would be able to pay for the services rendered at Vision Complex and this will enable the school to take care of its services, together will provide easy way of taking the care of  orphans as the school shall regulate its own  funds.
